CSD (Canteen Stores Department) or Army Canteen offers goods to Defence personnel at subsidized rates. One can even purchase a car at subsidized rates through Army canteen. That said, it’s not mandatory to get the car registered at the same location. One can apply for registration at his hometown or any other location in the country. All those that are employed in the Defence Sector on the payrolls of the Government of India can purchase cars through CSD. Also, all commissioned officers and ex-servicemen from the Defence can purchase a car through the Canteen irrespective of the rank they hold. Moreover, they can even get the vehicle financed through Private Banks or Nationalized Banks.
